Background
ANKMY1 is a protein that contains ankyrin repeats and a MYND (myeloid, nervy, and DEAF-1) zinc finger domain, which are structural motifs involved in protein-protein interactions and transcriptional regulation. ANKMY1 is expressed in various tissues and is thought to play roles in cellular signaling, protein stability, and gene regulation through its ability to mediate interactions with other proteins. The MYND domain of ANKMY1 suggests a potential function in transcriptional repression by interacting with chromatin modifiers and transcriptional regulators. ANKMY1 has also been implicated in cellular stress responses, development, and differentiation, although its precise molecular mechanisms remain under investigation. Dysregulation of ANKMY1 expression has been linked to aberrant cellular signaling pathways that may contribute to cancer progression and metabolic diseases.
