Background
Amyloid precursor protein (APP) is a highly conserved protein. Amyloid precursor-like protein 1 (APLP1) and amyloid precursor-like protein 2 (APLP2) are homologous of APP. APLP1 was the first identified homologue , while APLP2, was later recognized as another homologue of APP . These three proteins share significant sequence similarity and possess conserved domain structures. APLP1, a type I transmembrane protein, plays a crucial role in synaptic adhesion and synaptogenesis. Background
La proteína precursora de amiloide (APP) es una proteína altamente conservada. La proteína 1 similar al precursor de amiloide (APLP1) y la proteína 2 similar al precursor de amiloide (APLP2) son homólogas de APP. APLP1 fue el primer homólogo identificado, mientras que APLP2 fue reconocido más tarde como otro homólogo de APP.
