Human Amyloid Beta 42 (Abeta42) ELISA Kit is an ELISA Kit for the in vitro quantitative measurement of Human Amyloid Beta 42 (Abeta42) concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Amyloid beta 42 (Abeta42)No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Amyloid beta 42 (Abeta42) and analogues was observed.
Amyloid beta (Aβ or Abeta) is a term used to describe peptides composed of 36 to 43 amino acids, and they constitute the primary component of the amyloid plaques found within the brains of individuals suffering from Alzheimer's disease. These peptides are derived from the amyloid-beta precursor protein (APP).The formation of β-amyloid occurs through the sequential cleavage of a transmembrane protein known as APP, which is a glycoprotein serving as its precursor. Among the various forms, the most extensively studied variants are Aβ42 and Aβ40 (Abeta40 and Abeta42). The sole distinction between Aβ42 and Aβ40 is the presence of two additional residues at the C-terminus of Aβ42.The generation of Aβ from its precursor protein, APP, is orchestrated by enzymes known as gamma- and β-secretases. Aβ can be found circulating in plasma, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), and brain interstitial fluid (ISF), predominantly in the soluble Aβ40 form. Notably, amyloid plaques contain both Aβ40 and Aβ42.The amyloid-beta peptide is believed to play a central role in the pathology of Alzheimer's disease. Sporadic Alzheimer's disease is the most prevalent cause of dementia, contributing to an estimated 50% to 56% of cases in autopsy and clinical series.Furthermore, Aβ production appears to have a close relationship with the Aβ precursor protein, APP, and mitochondria, which serve as the primary energy source for the brain. Microglial cells also play crucial roles in removing accumulated Aβ, not only through phagocytosis but also by releasing proteases for degradation. Terms related :Tau protein, Fosfo Tau,nptx2, STREM2
For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments.

Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein.
