This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein.

Descripción

Alpha-1-Microglobulin-Bikunin Precursor (AMBP) encodes a precursor protein that generates two distinct products: alpha-1-microglobulin (A1M) and bikunin. Alpha-1-microglobulin is a small glycoprotein with potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, primarily involved in scavenging free heme and protecting tissues from oxidative stress and protein damage. It also binds and removes oxidized molecules, maintaining cellular homeostasis. Bikunin, on the other hand, is a Kunitz-type protease inhibitor that regulates serine proteases, playing a key role in controlling inflammation and extracellular matrix stabilization. As part of the inter-alpha-trypsin inhibitor family, bikunin contributes to tissue repair and proteolytic balance. Both proteins are primarily produced in the liver and circulate in the blood, fulfilling complementary functions in tissue protection and repair. Dysregulation of AMBP expression has been implicated in liver diseases, chronic inflammation, and cancer, where disruptions in antioxidant defense, protease regulation, and extracellular matrix stability contribute to disease progression, highlighting its importance in maintaining physiological homeostasis.

Protein AMBP (AMBP) Antibody

AMBP Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody against AMBP. This gene encodes a complex glycoprotein secreted in plasma. The precursor is proteolytically processed into distinct functioning proteins: alpha-1-microglobulin, which belongs to the superfamily of lipocalin transport proteins and may play a role in the regulation of inflammatory processes, and bikunin, which is a urinary trypsin inhibitor belonging to the superfamily of Kunitz-type protease inhibitors and plays an important role in many physiological and pathological processes. This gene is located on chromosome 9 in a cluster of lipocalin genes.
