Descripción
CRYBG2 is another member of the beta-gamma crystallin domain family, expressed in various tissues, including the nervous system and reproductive organs. It is thought to contribute to protein stability, cellular stress responses, and neuroprotection, especially under conditions of oxidative or metabolic stress. CRYBG2 may play a role in maintaining cytoskeletal integrity and regulating intracellular signaling pathways, although its specific functions remain less understood. Dysregulation of CRYBG2 has been associated with neurodegenerative diseases and potentially in some cancers, where altered cytoskeletal dynamics and cellular stress responses are contributing factors. Research into CRYBG2 is ongoing to determine its full physiological and pathological significance.
