Descripción

FPR3 is a G protein-coupled receptor expressed primarily on monocytes, dendritic cells, and lymphocytes, where it contributes to immune regulation and inflammation. Unlike FPR1 and FPR2, FPR3 has lower affinity for formylated peptides and is more associated with endogenous ligands, playing a role in immune cell migration and immune surveillance. FPR3 localizes primarily to intracellular compartments, suggesting a role in regulating immune responses through intracellular signaling and peptide degradation. It modulates chemotactic responses, dendritic cell maturation, and cytokine production, balancing pro-inflammatory and homeostatic functions. Dysregulation of FPR3 signaling has been implicated in immune disorders and chronic inflammation, where impaired immune cell trafficking can lead to dysfunctional responses. In cancer, FPR3 may contribute to immune evasion and tumor progression, although its role remains less defined compared to FPR1 and FPR2. Targeting FPR3 offers potential for therapies aimed at fine-tuning immune responses, particularly in conditions involving inflammation and immune regulation. Overall, FPR3 acts as a modulator of immune cell function and homeostasis.

Formyl Peptide Receptor 3 (FPR3) Antibody

Low affinity receptor for N-formyl-methionyl peptides, which are powerful neutrophils chemotactic factors. Binding of FMLP to the receptor causes activation of neutrophils. This response is mediated via a G-protein that activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system.
