Background
CBL is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that plays a crucial role in regulating signal transduction pathways, particularly those associated with receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) like the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR). CBL mediates the ubiquitination of target proteins, leading to their degradation via the proteasome, and regulates the receptor's internalization and downregulation.
