Descripción

ADAM29 is a member of the ADAM family of proteins, which are involved in various cellular processes such as cell adhesion, migration, proteolysis, and signaling. Like other ADAM proteins, ADAM29 likely contains multiple functional domains. May be is involved in spermatogenesis and fertilization. Seems to be a non catalytic metalloprotease-like protein.The expression pattern and specific functions of ADAM29 are not as well-characterized as some other members of the ADAM family. However, based on limited available data, ADAM29 expression has been reported in certain tissues and cell types. For example, it has been detected in the brain, specifically in regions such as the cerebellum, where it may play roles in neuronal development and synaptic function.ADAM29 expression has been observed in immune cells and tissues, suggesting potential involvement in immune responses and inflammation. Further research is needed to fully understand the physiological functions and molecular mechanisms of ADAM29, as well as its potential roles in disease processes.
