Descripción

DENN domain containing 1A (DENND1A) is a critical guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for Rab35, a small GTPase involved in endosomal trafficking and membrane recycling. DENND1A regulates the cycling of Rab35 between its GDP-bound inactive form and GTP-bound active state, promoting endosomal sorting and exocytosis. It is particularly important in processes like cytokinesis, where Rab35 facilitates the trafficking of vesicles required for the separation of daughter cells. DENND1A is also implicated in recycling plasma membrane components, such as receptors and transporters, ensuring proper cellular signaling and nutrient uptake. Dysregulation of DENND1A has been linked to pathological conditions, including polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), where it may contribute to hormonal imbalances and altered cellular signaling. Its tissue-specific expression, particularly in reproductive and endocrine tissues, underscores its specialized roles in vesicle trafficking and cellular function.

DENND1A antibody

Guanine nucleotide exchange factor(GEF) regulating clathrin-mediated endocytosis through RAB35 activation. Promotes the exchange of GDP to GTP, converting inactive GDP-bound RAB35 into its active GTP-bound form. Regulates clathrin-mediated endocytosis of synaptic vesicles and mediates exit from early endosomes(PubMed:20154091, PubMed:20937701). Binds phosphatidylinositol-phosphates(PtdInsPs), with some preference for PtdIns(3)P(By similarity).
