Descripción
Cannabinoid receptor interacting protein 1 (CNRIP1) is an intracellular protein that interacts with cannabinoid receptors, specifically CB1 (cannabinoid receptor type 1), which is primarily found in the central nervous system and plays a pivotal role in modulating various physiological processes, including pain perception, appetite, and mood. CNRIP1 is thought to be involved in regulating the signaling pathways of CB1, modulating its activity, and potentially impacting receptor desensitization or internalization. Through its interaction with CB1, CNRIP1 indirectly participates in the endocannabinoid system, which maintains homeostasis in processes such as synaptic transmission, immune response, and neuroprotection. Beyond the nervous system, CNRIP1 may also influence metabolic and energy balance functions, as CB1 receptors are expressed in peripheral tissues like adipose tissue, liver, and skeletal muscle. Aberrant expression or function of CNRIP1 has been implicated in pathological conditions such as obesity, neurodegenerative disorders, and substance use disorders, highlighting its potential as a target for therapeutic interventions. CNRIP1 continues to be an area of active research, with a focus on elucidating its precise molecular mechanisms and broader implications in cannabinoid receptor-mediated pathways.

CB1 Cannabinoid Receptor-Interacting Protein 1 (CNRP1) Antibody
This gene encodes a G-protein coupled receptor which interacts with the C-terminal tail of cannabinoid receptor 1. This receptor plays a role in synaptic plasticity, analgesia, appetite, and neuroprotection. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.
