Descripción
CARD19 is another member of the caspase recruitment domain (CARD) family of proteins. While less well-characterized than other CARD proteins, CARD19 is believed to play a role in immune system signaling. Like other CARD-containing proteins, it likely functions as an adaptor protein in signaling pathways that regulate cellular responses to stress, infection, and inflammation. CARD19's involvement in the activation of the NF-κB pathway and other inflammatory responses suggests that it could play a role in the regulation of immune cell activation. Dysregulation of CARD19 could contribute to abnormal immune responses and be implicated in autoimmune disorders and chronic inflammation. Further research is needed to fully understand the precise molecular mechanisms by which CARD19 contributes to immune regulation and how it might be targeted in disease treatments.
