Descripción
BTN2A2 shares structural similarities with BTN2A1 and is involved in regulating immune responses, particularly T-cell-mediated immunity. It is highly expressed in epithelial cells and immune tissues, where it contributes to maintaining immune tolerance. BTN2A2 may play a role in cell-cell communication and the modulation of inflammation. Like BTN2A1, BTN2A2 is associated with lipid metabolism, particularly in the mammary gland, where it may assist in lipid secretion.
