Protein transport. Probably involved in vesicular traffic(By similarity).
RAB5B, member RAS oncogene family (RAB5B) is a small GTPase from the RAS superfamily that plays a significant role in the regulation of endocytosis and vesicular trafficking RAB5B is involved in the regulation of early endosomes, controlling their maturation and the internalization of membrane proteins from the cell surface It facilitates the fusion of early endosomes and their movement within the cell to enable proper sorting of internalized cargo for recycling or degradation Additionally, RAB5B is implicated in the regulation of cell signaling and receptor trafficking, which affect various cellular processes, including growth, differentiation, and immune responses Alterations in RAB5B have been linked to a variety of diseases, including cancer, where abnormal vesicular trafficking may contribute to tumorigenesis and metastasis Furthermore, RAB5B also plays roles in neuronal function, impacting synaptic vesicle cycling and neurotransmitter release
