RAB3C, member RAS oncogene family (RAB3C) shares functional similarities with other members of the RAB3 family, particularly in the regulation of vesicle trafficking and membrane dynamics RAB3C plays a role in neurotransmitter release and synaptic vesicle recycling, especially in neurons where it helps in the efficient release of neurotransmitters across synapses It is also involved in various forms of cellular signaling and the transport of proteins and lipids within cells Additionally, RAB3C contributes to the regulation of cellular functions related to exocytosis, the process through which cells release substances into the extracellular environment Like other RAB3 family members, RAB3C is crucial for normal neuronal function and communication Disruptions in RAB3C function are implicated in neurodevelopmental disorders, such as intellectual disability and developmental delays, due to its critical role in synaptic transmission and cellular signaling pathways
