Background

Interleukin-15 receptor subunit alpha (IL15RA) is a receptor that binds to the cytokine interleukin-15 (IL-15), a protein central to immune system regulation, particularly in the development, activation, and survival of natural killer (NK) cells and memory CD8+ T cells. IL-15 plays a significant role in the immune response against viral infections and tumors and in sustaining long-lived immune memory.
