Interleukin-11 (IL11) is a member of the IL-6-type cytokine family, which plays crucial roles in regulating immune responses, inflammation, and hematopoiesis. IL-11 was first identified for its role in promoting the proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells and megakaryocytes, which are essential for platelet production.
