Background
ANXA6 is a calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein involved in membrane dynamics, endocytosis, and exocytosis. It is one of the largest annexins and interacts with components of the cytoskeleton and plasma membrane to regulate vesicle trafficking and cholesterol homeostasis. ANXA6 plays a role in calcium signaling, influencing the activation of ion channels and cellular processes such as cell adhesion, migration, and signal transduction. Its expression is elevated in certain cancers, including breast cancer, where it modulates cell proliferation and survival.
