Descripción
ANKRA2 is a member of the ankyrin repeat protein family and is characterized by multiple ankyrin repeat domains that facilitate protein-protein interactions. ANKRA2 is involved in processes such as transcriptional regulation, signal transduction, and cellular stability by acting as a molecular scaffold. It interacts with components of chromatin remodeling complexes and transcriptional repressors to regulate gene expression. ANKRA2 has been implicated in pathways controlling immune responses and cell cycle progression, where it may influence the activation or repression of target genes. Emerging studies indicate that ANKRA2 may function in DNA repair mechanisms, cellular stress responses, and maintaining genomic stability. Dysregulation of ANKRA2 expression or function is associated with tumorigenesis and altered signaling pathways in diseases such as cancer. Its role in protein complex formation and transcriptional control underscores its importance in cellular homeostasis and stress adaptation.
