Descripción
ANAPC10 is a critical subunit of the Anaphase-Promoting Complex/Cyclosome (APC/C) and functions as a key adaptor in the ubiquitin ligase activity of the complex. ANAPC10 interacts with other core subunits, including CDC20 and CDH1, to facilitate the recruitment of substrates for ubiquitination. It helps target key cell cycle proteins such as cyclin B, securin, and geminin for proteasomal degradation, thereby driving progression through mitosis and maintaining proper cell cycle regulation. ANAPC10 also ensures the fidelity of chromosome segregation by preventing premature separation of sister chromatids. Dysregulation of ANAPC10 impairs APC/C activity, leading to chromosomal instability, mitotic arrest, and increased risk of cancer. It has been implicated in tumorigenesis due to its role in cell cycle checkpoint control and regulation of proliferation. Its function as an essential adaptor makes ANAPC10 a promising target for therapeutic strategies aimed at modulating mitotic progression in cancer cells.
