Background
ACTR10 is part of the actin-related protein family, involved in intracellular trafficking and cytoskeletal regulation. Structurally, ACTR10 resembles actin but does not polymerize into actin filaments. It is primarily associated with vesicle transport and endosomal sorting processes. ACTR10 interacts with the dynein-dynactin complex to facilitate retrograde transport along microtubules. Its expression is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis, particularly in organelles such as the Golgi and endosomes. Disruptions in ACTR10 have been linked to impaired cellular trafficking and neurological disorders, indicating its critical role in intracellular transport pathways.
