Descripción

aarF domain-containing kinase 2 (ADCK2) is involved in mitochondrial function and is associated with the regulation of coenzyme Q biosynthesis. ADCK2 is expressed in various tissues, with higher levels in skeletal muscle and adipose tissue, indicating its role in energy metabolism and lipid regulation. Studies suggest that ADCK2 may influence mitochondrial bioenergetics and oxidative phosphorylation, making it important for maintaining cellular energy balance. Dysregulation of ADCK2 has been associated with metabolic disorders, including obesity and insulin resistance, where mitochondrial dysfunction plays a key role. Research into ADCK2 is ongoing to elucidate its precise mechanisms of action and its potential as a therapeutic target for metabolic diseases.
